Smokey Bones
A four-year remodel program for Smokey Bones, starting in Florida and rolling out through Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Kentucky and Virginia.
The program
Smokey Bones brought R Builders in to remodel existing restaurants, beginning with three Florida locations and expanding into a multi-state rollout. Working across six states meant coordinating permitting and inspections with a different building department in nearly every market, while keeping each remodel on a schedule the chain could plan around.
2016 — the first three
The program started close to home with remodels at Boca Raton, Wellington and Clearwater.
2017 — seven locations, north into Pennsylvania and Ohio
The rollout expanded well beyond Florida: Wilkes-Barre and York in Pennsylvania, Plantation in Florida, and a cluster of Ohio locations at Grove City, Reynoldsburg, Dayton and West Chester.
2018 — five more states covered
Remodels at Colonie in New York, Cranberry Township in Pennsylvania, Jeffersontown in Kentucky, and Roanoke and Chesapeake in Virginia.
2019 — back to Florida
The program closed out with two Florida remodels, at Kissimmee and Citrus Park.
