The program
Monro Muffler runs commercial garages up and down the east coast, and brought R Builders in for a rolling program of store work. Garage space has its own demands — service bays, lifts, drainage and ventilation all have to work around a floor plan that keeps cars moving. Projects came in regional clusters, which let us keep crews and subcontractors working through a market rather than traveling between one-off jobs, and that is the reason the program could cover roughly forty locations in two years.
2019 — Pennsylvania and Virginia
The first cluster ran through northern and central Pennsylvania: Kingston, two stores at Selinsgrove, Wilkes-Barre, Bloomsburg, Mansfield, Tunkhannock and Towanda, with Harrisonburg in Virginia.
2019 — southwest Florida
A second 2019 cluster covered the Gulf coast: two stores in Fort Myers, three in Naples, and one each in Bonita Springs, Estero and Cape Coral.
2020 — Ohio and Virginia Beach
The program scaled up considerably, with five locations around Cleveland and eleven in Virginia Beach.
2020 — more southwest Florida
Alongside the northern work, another six Gulf coast stores: Fort Myers, Naples, Bonita Springs, Cape Coral and two more in Estero.
